Kirby and his wife Llewellyn have a daughter, Emma (class of 2018), and a son, David. The Shealys are active members of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral.
Kirby, a Heathwood graduate, is a partner in the law firm of Adams and Reese. He has been involved in many community and professional organizations, including the South Carolina chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates. Kirby is a past-president of the John Belton O’Neall Inn of Court, an organization of lawyers and judges whose mission is to promote the highest standards of civility, professionalism, and competency in the legal profession. He also serves on the South Carolina Supreme Court’s Committee on Character and Fitness, which is charged with determining the suitability of applicants to the South Carolina Bar.
Kirby currently serves on the boards of Growing Home Southeast and Thompson Child and Family Focus, two agencies that care for children with emotional and psychological issues. He also serves as the Chancellor of the Episcopal Diocese of Upper South Carolina and the Treasurer of the Trinity Foundation Commission.
