Curtis Layton

Co-Founder at HEBI Robotics

Curtis Layton is the Co-Founder & Electrical Engineer of HEBI Robotics. Curtis has always been passionate about robotics and started their career as a student researcher at Carnegie Mellon University. From there, they interned at QinetiQ North America before being hired on full time as an electrical engineer. After a year at QinetiQ, Curtis returned to Carnegie Mellon to finish their degree.

Upon graduating, Curtis again partnered with QinetiQ North America for a short time before leaving to start HEBI Robotics with a few others. Curtis and their team have since built HEBI into a successful company that creates custom robotic systems for a variety of clients.

Curtis Layton earned their master's degree in electrical and computer engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. Curtis also holds a bachelor's degree in the same field from the same school. Prior to their studies at Carnegie Mellon, they attended Hanover High School.

They work with Bob Raida - COO, Andrew Willig - Senior Mechanical Engineer, and Florian Enner - Co-Founder & Software Engineer. Their manager is Howie Choset, Founder & CEO.
