Katharine (Katie) Scrantom has a diverse work experience, with roles in various organizations. Katharine (Katie) started their career in 2008 as a Teacher at Chicago Public Schools and later worked as an Interpreter/Translator at Heartland Alliance for Human Needs & Human Rights. In 2009, they became a Family Support Worker & Parent Leadership Coordinator at Howard Area Family Center, where they provided comprehensive support to low-income families. From 2014 to 2014, they worked as an Education for Sustainable Development Officer at TOOLS FOR SOLIDARITY. In 2016, they joined Viwomail as a Freelance Translator and Editor. Additionally, they co-founded Dwon Madiki Partnership in 2006 and served as the Education Coordinator until 2015. Currently, they are employed at Hebrew Public, where they have held various positions, including Mixed Methods Research Analyst and Manager of Talent Operations.

Katharine (Katie) Scrantom has a diverse education history. In 2005, they attended Loyola University Chicago and completed a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree with a focus on Bilingual and Multilingual Education in 2008. During their time at Loyola University Chicago, Katie Scrantom briefly studied at Universidad Nacional de las Artes in 2007, where they took a course in Sociocultural History of Art. Katharine (Katie) also took an Argentine Thought/Philosophy course at the University of Buenos Aires in the same year.

In 2014, Katie Scrantom enrolled at Queen's University Belfast and obtained a Master's Degree in MSc Psychology of Childhood Adversity in 2015. Following their formal education, they pursued additional certifications. In 2011, they obtained a Parent Educator Certificate from Parents as Teachers. In 2012, they completed the Domestic Violence 40 Hour Training offered by the Chicago Metropolitan Battered Women's Network, as well as the Mandated Reporter Training provided by the Department of Children and Family Services. Lastly, in 2016, they obtained certification in Teaching Character and Creating Positive Classrooms from Relay Graduate School of Education.
