Joel Schwab

Joel Schwab, CFA has a robust work experience spanning several companies and roles. Joel began their career as an Attorney at Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP from September 1999 to October 2000. Joel then joined Channel Capital Group, where they held various positions such as Associate, Director, Managing Director, and finally Chief Operating Officer from March 2001 to September 2011. In this role, they played a significant role in the sale of Channel Capital Group to eVestment. Following this, they joined eVestment as Senior Vice President - Alternatives from September 2011 to March 2012, overseeing the transition of Channel Capital Group to eVestment. Joel Schwab's most recent position is at HFR, where they have held the roles of Managing Director (March 2012 to January 2020) and currently serves as the Senior Managing Director starting from January 2020.

Joel Schwab, CFA has a strong educational background in business, finance, and law. Joel began their academic journey in 1987 at New Trier High School District, where they earned their High School Diploma in 1991. Joel then attended the University of California, Berkeley from 1991 to 1993. During this time, they pursued a degree in an undisclosed field of study.

Building on their interest in business, Joel then transferred to the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business in 1993. Here, they pursued a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus on Accounting and Finance. After completing their degree in 1995, they further expanded their knowledge by enrolling at the University of Michigan Law School, where they obtained a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) in 1999.

Joel's passion for finance led him to pursue further education in the field. Joel attended the University of Michigan - Stephen M. Ross School of Business from 1997 to 1999, where they earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree, specializing in Corporate Strategy and Finance. This diverse educational background equips Joel with a comprehensive understanding of business administration, finance, law, corporate strategy, and accounting.
