Tim Hayes has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. Starting in 1986, they worked as a Planner II for the City of Longmont, where they guided projects through the planning and development process. Tim then moved on to the City of Newport News in 1988, where they served as a Senior Planner, managing all aspects of long-range, current, and neighborhood planning. In 1993, Tim joined Northampton County, Virginia, as the Director of Sustainable Development, where they established and managed the Department of Sustainable Development and led an award-winning community development process.
From 1996 to 2001, Tim worked as the Executive Director for the Sustainable Technology Park Authority, where they developed a 200-acre sustainable technology park. Tim raised significant funding and oversaw all phases of development, from planning and design to marketing and sales.
In 2003, Tim joined TAM Consultants, Inc. as a Senior Project Manager, where they accomplished more than $50 million worth of projects in various sectors, including healthcare, commercial, industrial, residential, and mixed-use.
From 2006 to 2008, Tim worked as a Senior Project Manager for D9 Development Company, LLC, managing high-profile projects with challenging planning, design, and construction requirements.
Starting in 2010, Tim co-founded Powerhouse LLC and Vis Solis, Inc., where they successfully developed, engineered, procured, constructed, operated, and sold multiple solar projects. Tim also expanded the company's presence into the Asia Pacific region.
In 2017, Tim joined Cypress Creek Renewables as an EPC Project Manager, leading the engineering, procurement, and construction process for utility-scale solar photovoltaic projects. Tim also played a crucial role in integrating energy storage into the projects.
Tim then moved on to Southern Current LLC in 2019, holding positions such as EPC Project Portfolio Manager and EPC Director of Project Management. Tim managed the engineering, procurement, and construction of large utility-scale PV projects, overcoming challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Currently, Tim holds the position of Vice President of Construction Management at Heelstone Renewable Energy, LLC. Tim oversees the construction management activities and leads the engineering, procurement, and construction of utility-scale solar photovoltaic power plants.
Tim Hayes holds a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Design from the University of Colorado Boulder. In addition to their degree, they have obtained several certifications throughout their career, including OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety and Health, PV Technical Sales Professional, PV Installation Professional, and AICP certification from the American Institute of Certified Planners. The years in which they obtained these certifications are not specified.
