Maura Kernan

Maura Kernan is a legal professional with extensive experience in medical malpractice litigation, currently serving as a Partner and Senior Associate Attorney at Heidell Pittoni Murphy & Bach LLP since January 2015. Maura represents physicians, hospitals, and other healthcare providers throughout all stages of pre-trial litigation, including case development and discovery. Prior experience includes roles as a Pro Bono Attorney at Prisoners' Legal Services of New York, where successful appeals were made for incarcerated clients, and as an Excelsior Service Fellow in the New York State Office of Parks and Recreation, where Maura worked on policy initiatives and legal issues. Additional roles include a Law Clerk at O'Connell & Aronowitz and internships with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and the U.S. Department of Labor. Maura holds a J.D. from Albany Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in Government and Environmental Studies from Hamilton College.
