Gilles Cazenave

Chief Engineer Europe at Heil Trailer International

Gilles Cazenave began their work experience as the Chief Design Engineer at Feldbinder- Metalair UK Ltd in 1992, where they focused on mechanical engineering and design work for road tankers. Gilles also worked on the development of new products such as ISO tank containers and UIC/CSC approvals for rail testing.

In 1998, Cazenave joined MERCERON Group as the Director of Engineering and R&D. There, they managed the engineering team and developed new products for European markets, specifically Dry Bulk Road Tankers and Dangerous Goods Liquid Road Tankers. Gilles also conducted FEA engineering works, particularly in mechanical structural analysis for road vehicle structures.

Cazenave later joined Heil Trailer International in 2003 as the Chief Engineer Europe. In this role, they focused on product development for the Asia-Pacific, UK, and European markets while ensuring compliance with local regulations and UN-ADR standards. Gilles also conducted FEA Engineering works using Pro-Mechanica for structural analysis.

Gilles Cazenave obtained their High School diploma in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Aircraft Turbine Engines from the Private Technical College TURBOMECA in Pau, France, in 1988. Gilles then pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Université Paul Sabatier Toulouse III, completing it in 1990. Continuing their education, Gilles obtained a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the same university in 1991. Finally, they furthered their studies and earned another Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from CNAM LYON in 1996.
