Karsten Folkerts

Karsten Folkerts has a diverse work experience in the finance and control field. Karsten currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer at Heineken Malaysia Berhad since June 2021. Prior to this, they held the same position at AB HEINEKEN Philippines Inc. from January 2020 to June 2021.

Before their roles as CFO, Folkerts worked at HEINEKEN for over a decade. Karsten served as the Finance Manager - Europe Export & Global Duty Free from October 2016 to January 2020. Prior to that, they held positions as Business Controller Off-Trade & Marketing from January 2014 to September 2016, Sales Controller On-Trade from October 2011 to December 2013, and Integration Project Manager from November 2010 to September 2011.

Folkerts started their career at Vrumona in 2008 as a Jr. Business Controller Supply Chain, where they were responsible for various business control tasks within the Supply Chain Organization. Karsten held this position until November 2010.

Their professional journey began in 2007 as a Financial Management Trainee at HEINEKEN, where they completed three trainee projects at various Heineken N.V. Operating Companies, including the Marketing department at Heineken Netherlands.

Overall, Folkerts has a strong background in finance and control, with extensive experience in leadership roles within the HEINEKEN group and other prominent organizations in the beverage industry.

Karsten Folkerts completed an Executive Master in Finance and Control (Controllersopleiding) from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam) from 2009 to 2012. Prior to that, they earned a MSc degree in International Business with a focus on Financial Management from Tilburg University, from 2000 to 2007.
