Catarina Moreira is a researcher at HeiQ since July 2021, with a strong background in the production and characterization of biodegradable microcapsules. Prior experience includes a research position at Laboratório Associado LSRE-LCM from September 2014 to January 2016, focusing on the continuous production of biodegradable microcapsules with thyme oil. Initial research activities involved a master's thesis at the same laboratory from February 2014 to July 2014, where Catarina worked on the microencapsulation of essential oils. Catarina holds a PhD in Chemical and Biological Engineering from Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto, completed between May 2016 and July 2021, and a Master's degree in Integrated Chemical Engineering from the same institution, earned in 2014. Education began at Colégio D. Duarte, culminating in a secondary education focused on sciences and technologies.
