Research Engineer at Heirloom

Akshay Siramdas has worked in a variety of roles since 2016. In 2016, they were an Open Source Developer at SymPy. Later that year, they were a Summer Intern at Ordnance Factory - India, where they worked on water tightness of the engine bay on infantry vehicle BMP Sarath - II and completed a study on the sealant material for the hinges. In 2017, they were an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad and a Project Intern at TATA Advanced Systems Limited. In 2018, they were a Summer Intern at Nagarjuna Sagar Hydro Electric Scheme, where they performed efficiency analysis of 7 hybrid - reaction type turbines and started a study on possible next generation turbines for better cost to performance ratio. From 2019 to 2020, they were a Graduate Student at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Currently, they are a Research Engineer at Heirloom.

Akshay Siramdas obtained a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Mechanical Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad in 2015-2019. Akshay then pursued a Master of Science (MS) in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 2019-2021.
