Laura Katz has a diverse work experience in the food industry. Laura is the Founder and CEO of Helaina, a company that specializes in creating human milk proteins for infant formula. Prior to that, they worked as an Adjunct Professor at New York University, teaching Food Science and Technology. Laura also served as a Taco Scientist at Epicurious and as a Regulatory Nutrition Manager at Dylan's Candy Bar. Laura has experience as a Lead Food Scientist at SIMULATE and as a Test Kitchen Assistant and Nutritionist at Plated. Laura has also worked at New York University as a Culinary Event Coordinator and Grader.

Laura Katz has a Master's Degree in Food Studies from New York University. Laura also studied abroad at UniLaSalle, focusing on Nutritional Sciences. Prior to that, they attended Western University, where they earned a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Honours Specialization Food Science and Technology. In addition to their formal education, Laura has obtained a Food Protection Certificate from the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene in January 2015.
