Thilo Heffen

Thilo Heffen has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Thilo currently holds the position of Senior Content Editor at Helfy, starting in December 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a self-employed Journalist, Author, and Content Writer since October 2019, providing freelance services to newspapers, magazines, and small to medium-sized companies. Thilo also served as a Blogger for EXIMUM - Das Magazin from March 2017 to December 2021.

Before their freelance work, they worked as the Branch Manager Frankfurt at Safety-Kleen Deutschland GmbH from November 2016 to October 2017. Thilo previously held managerial positions at AirBridgeCargo Airlines LLC, serving as the Operations & Ground Handling Manager Frankfurt from January 2014 to October 2016, Deputy Operations & Ground Handling Manager Frankfurt from February 2012 to December 2013, and Operations & Ground Handling Supervisor from December 2010 to February 2012.

Thilo's earlier experiences include working as a Duty Officer at Fraport AG from February 2009 to November 2010, a Ramp Agent at AHS Aviation Handling Services GmbH from July 2007 to February 2009, and as a Self-Employed videographer at Filmabteilung Video Productions from April 2005 to September 2008.

Thilo started their career as a Senior Network Engineer at MCI WorldCom Deutschland GmbH from December 2000 to December 2003, where they were responsible for network administration, project management, and creating training materials. Thilo also had a short trainee experience at Netzwerke Technologie Service GmbH in October to December 2000.

Thilo Heffen has a diverse education history with a focus on journalism, film production, and network engineering. In 1998, they obtained a Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) from the University of Cambridge. In 2000, they attended TÜV Akademie Pfalz and obtained a Network Engineer (TAP) degree, specializing in Network Engineering. In 2004, Thilo attended the SAE Institute and earned a degree in Digital Film Production. Lastly, in 2018, they enrolled in the Deutsches Journalistenkolleg and completed a degree in Journalism (DJK), with a focus on Umwelt- und Lokaljournalismus (environmental and local journalism). In addition to these formal degrees, Thilo obtained certification in Project Management: The Basics for Success from the University of California, Irvine in July 2016.
