Leopoldo Rodríguez has worked in a variety of roles in the engineering and technology industries since 2008. Leopoldo started their career as a Field Engineer Trainee at Emerson Process Management, where they participated in different automation projects and programmed control strategies for industrial automation applications. Leopoldo then moved to Ford Motor Company in 2009 as a Powertrain Controls Engineer, where they were responsible for design and release of powertrain sensors, powertrain controls and transmission control components for global platforms, as well as calibration production release for global platforms and global campaign prevention specialist for powertrain components. In 2013, Leopoldo joined GE Aviation as a Navigation and Guidance Engineer. In 2015, they became an Early Stage Researcher at Universidad de Sevilla, where they conducted research activities focused on flight duration enhancement with state-of-the-art trajectory generation and path planning algorithms for single and multiple aerial vehicles. In 2018, they joined Jaguar Land Rover as an Autonomous Driving - Planning and Control Manager, leading development, architecture design and strategy roadmap definition for motion planning, behaviour planning, mission management path planning and trajectory generation for JLR autonomous driving stack. In 2020, Leopoldo became a Senior Software Consultant at BlueSpace.ai, where they were responsible for motion planning pipeline development, CI/CD test design including simulation and in-vehicle testing, as well as development of a metrics analysis tool for localisation perception and planning. Most recently, in 2021, Leopoldo became the CEO and Co-founder of Helgen Technologies.
Leopoldo Rodríguez obtained a B.S. in Mechatronics Engineering from Tecnológico de Monterrey between 2004 and 2008. Leopoldo then went on to obtain a Master of Science in Aerospace Vehicle Design from Cranfield University between 2012 and 2013. Leopoldo furthered their education by obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy in Automation Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunications from Universidad de Sevilla between 2015 and 2018. Leopoldo also holds certifications in Six Sigma Green Belt from GE Aviation (2014) and Ford Motor Company, as well as an ISO9001 Internal Audit from ITESM CEM.
