Liz Valente is a Senior Cell Biologist at Heligenics since February 2021, focusing on connecting mutations to health. Previously, Valente served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Stanford University School of Medicine from October 2014 to January 2021, where research involved establishing high-throughput functional screening methods to explore cellular pathways of novel p53 tumor suppressor-associated genes using CRISPR/Cas9 technology. Experience also includes positions as a Research Officer at the Walter & Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research, where Valente conducted in vivo shRNA screens and CRISPR/Cas9 validation studies related to p53-mediated lymphoma suppression, and as a Ph.D. Student at the University of Melbourne, specializing in Oncology and Cancer Biology. Educational background encompasses a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Melbourne, a Bachelor's degree with Honours from La Trobe University, and a Certificate IV in Forensic Science from Swinburne University of Technology.
