J. Fernando Castillo

J. Fernando Castillo is a Senior Experimental Scientist and Fusion Scientist at Helion since December 2021, previously serving as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from June 2014 to December 2021, where significant contributions were made in data analysis, laser ablation experiments, and large-scale plasma physics collaborations. Academic roles included teaching assistance in Electrodynamics I, where multiple lectures and support sessions were provided to over 80 students. Prior experience includes research on metamaterial structures at The University of Texas at El Paso and a summer internship at Caltech's LIGO Lab, focusing on computational modeling. J. Fernando Castillo earned a PhD and Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The University of Texas at El Paso.
