Joel Ennis has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of capacitor design and engineering. Joel is currently serving as a Capacitor Design Lead Engineer at Helion Energy since March 2021. Prior to this, Joel worked as an Engineering Manager and Quality Assurance Manager at CD Snow Hill, LLC from January 2021 to March 2021.
Before joining CD Snow Hill, LLC, Joel held multiple roles at NWL Capacitors. From February 2018 to December 2020, they served as the Chief Engineer for Pulse Power Products and also took on the added responsibility of managing NWL's Quality Management System. Joel worked closely with customers and other managers to address quality issues and improve overall quality.
Joel's previous experience includes working as the Chief Engineer for Pulse Power Products at NWL Capacitor Division from October 2014 to December 2020. Joel led high voltage, pulse power capacitor development and design, collaborating with customer engineers to meet technical requirements effectively.
Additionally, Joel has worked at General Atomics as a Capacitor Technology Manager from March 2000 to October 2014. Joel managed film capacitor R&D, product development, and design engineering activities in support of Capacitor Products. During their tenure, they also served as a Product Line Manager, overseeing Capacitor and Power Supply Product Lines and contributing to technology development and customer satisfaction.
Joel's earlier experience includes various engineering and engineering management positions at Maxwell Technologies, Inc. from March 1984 to February 2000. Joel played a crucial role in capacitor R&D and engineering, supervised a team, managed projects, and wrote proposals and reports.
Joel'sprofessional journey began at Hughes Aircraft, where they worked as a Member of the Technical Staff-Physics. Joel assisted in research and development of capacitor technology for airborne and space applications, conducted experiments, and wrote reports.
Joel Ennis started their career as a Student Intern at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech). Joel majored in Physics and worked for the Space Radiation Laboratory, actively involved in data analysis for the HEAO-C satellite and briefly supporting the SRL team at JPL during the Voyager encounter with Jupiter.
Joel Ennis attended Caltech from 1977 to 1981, where they earned a BS degree in Physics.
