Taylor Jacobs is a seasoned materials R&D engineer with a robust background in metallurgy and materials science. Currently serving as a Senior Materials R&D Engineer at Helion since November 2023, Taylor previously held the position of Materials and Process Engineer at Blue Origin, where responsibilities included conducting root cause failure analyses for combustion devices in the New Shepard/BE-3PM engine. At Los Alamos National Laboratory, Taylor focused on plutonium process-microstructure-performance relationships and led critical self-irradiation experiments. Taylor also has experience as a graduate student at the Colorado School of Mines, completing a PhD in Metallurgical Engineering while assisting in various research and laboratory settings, including a metallurgist internship at Nucor Steel Arkansas.
