Lorena M.

Lorena M. is an accomplished scientific leader with extensive experience in research and development, specializing in laboratory operations and technology innovation in the field of genomics and cancer research. At Helix since December 2021, Lorena serves as Associate Director of Lab R&D and previously held the position of Principal Scientist. Prior roles include Principal Scientist at Boundless Bio, where Lorena established a multi-platform lab and developed capabilities for studying ecDNA-driven cancers. Lorena's experience also encompasses senior roles at Helix, where contributions included developing novel NGS workflows and facilitating assay transfer to clinical labs. With a solid foundation as a Postdoctoral Fellow and a PhD in Cell and Developmental Biology from Harvard Medical School, Lorena has demonstrated expertise in managing research teams and conducting cutting-edge scientific investigations across multiple esteemed institutions.
