Bill Williamson McDiarmid

Bill Williamson McDiarmid received a BA with Highest Honors from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1969 and a PhD from the Graduate School of Education at Harvard University in 1984. He is Dean and Alumni Distinguished Professor at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and University Chair Professor at East China Normal University in Shanghai, where he is also one of the Chairs of the Global Deans Forum. From 1973 to 1977 he taught History and English at the College of Athens. He then taught at five US universities, including Michigan State University and the University of Washington.
