John Gregory Iossifidis

Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics (Accounting major, Economics minor) and a Master’s degree in Business Administration (Executive MBA) from Monash University, Australia.

Has extensive experience, predominantly in the Financial Sector, in large multinational and regional financial institutions across Australia, Asia and Middle East. Commenced his career in 1984 in ANZ Bank in Melbourne, Australia and in 1997 he became Country General Manager of ANZ Bank in Sri Lanka. In 2000, he joined Standard Chartered Bank PLC where his last position was Managing Director and Regional Head, Organisation & Client Coverage MENAP (2003-2009). In 2009, he joined Mashreqbank P.S.C., holding the posts of Executive Vice President and Group Head, International Banking and Financial Institutions (2009-2015) and Executive Vice President and Group Head, Corporate and Investment Banking (2015-2017). In 2017, he joined Noor Bank P.J.S.C. in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, as Chief Executive Officer, a position he resigned from in July 2020 following the acquisition of Noor Bank by Dubai Islamic Bank. In July 2020, he joined Al Ghurair Investment L.L.C. as Group CEO. He is also a non-executive member of the Board of Directors of Mashreqbank P.S.C.

He is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors since 2019, member of the Australian Business Council U.A.E. since 2015 and a Fellow Member of the Australian Institute of Bankers since 1988.

He was appointed Member of the Board of Directors of Hellenic Bank on 18 June 2021. Member of the Audit and Nominations / Internal Governance Committees of the Bank’s Board of Directors
