Julia Kaufman

Julia Kaufman is the current Chief People Officer at Hellman & Friedman. Prior to this, they were the Global Head of Human Capital Management at Tishman Speyer from September 2016 to September 2022. Before that, Kaufman served as the Chief Administrative Officer and Senior Managing Director at Guggenheim Partners from April 2013 to September 2016. In this role, they oversaw Human Resources, Business Strategy, and Administration for Guggenheim Investments, a $200B+ asset manager and division of Guggenheim Partners. Julia also served as Head of Talent Management for Guggenheim Partners, encompassing all of the firm’s business units.

From September 2008 to April 2013, Kaufman was the Head of Americas Graduate Development at Barclays. In this role, they managed Analyst and Associate Programs for all US businesses and corporate/support functions. Julia led a staff of 17 across 3 teams in delivering HR services for 1,200 junior employees, including staffing/rotations, training/development, performance management, promotions, and compensation.

Prior to Barclays, Kaufman was the Senior Vice President, Head of US Campus Recruiting at Lehman Brothers from January 2008 to January 2008.

Julia Kaufman received their B.A. from the University of Virginia in Foreign Affairs and Russian Studies and then went on to earn their MBA from Harvard Business School.
