Allyssa Rivera

Allyssa Rivera is an experienced professional in the fields of dance/movement therapy and psychotherapy. Currently serving as faculty at the Department of Dance/Movement Therapy at Sarah Lawrence College since September 2023, Allyssa also operates a private practice as a psychotherapist and works as a dance/movement therapist at Creative Art Therapy Place, PLLC. Prior experience includes roles as a creative arts therapist in child and adolescent inpatient psychiatry at Mount Sinai St. Luke's and Mount Sinai West, a junior research scientist at New York University focusing on substance abuse policies and treatment modalities, and various dance/movement therapy roles. Allyssa holds a Master of Science in Dance Therapy from Sarah Lawrence College and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology, Psychology, and French from New York University.
