Laura Schillemans has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Laura began their career as a Junior Project Manager at Tequila\Agency.com (TBWA) in 2007 and later became an Account Lead at Wunderman Antwerp in 2009. At Wunderman Antwerp, they also worked as a Project Manager until 2011.

In 2017, Laura joined Enabel as an International Communications Manager, where they managed marketing communication activities for the Belgian Development Agency and the Belgian Consulate in Jerusalem. Laura supported projects related to Local Governance, Private Sector Development, Historic City Center Regeneration, and Education. Laura'sresponsibilities included developing and implementing communication strategies, as well as organizing local conferences and events. Laura remained in this role until 2019.

From 2019 to the present, Laura has held various roles at Simply (formerly JoyTunes). Laura started as a Senior Product Marketing Manager in December 2019 and later took on the role of Brand Builder from January 2021 to February 2022. Currently, they serve as the Brand Marketing Lead.

Additionally, Laura has worked as a Photographer for a sense of since December 2021, and they have been a Visual Storyteller at lau+ since October 2011. In their role at lau+, they tell the stories of small businesses and non-profits through graphic design, website development, e-mail marketing, and photography.

Laura Schillemans completed their Bachelor's degree in Communication Management/Commercial Communication from AP Hogeschool Antwerpen, from 2004 to 2007. Laura then pursued Graphic Design at Syntra Antwerpen en Vlaams Brabant (Syntra AB) from 2007 to 2009. In 2015 to 2016, they studied Political Science and International Politics at Ghent University. Additionally, Laura obtained a certification in English proficiency, specifically the IELTS - English test, with a score of 8, from IELTS Official in August 2017.
