Thomas Schwarz-Romond has a diverse work experience in various scientific and publishing roles. From 2017 to present, they have served as the Director of Operations at Helmholtz Munich. Prior to that, they worked as the Executive Publisher at Elsevier from 2015 to 2017. From 2006 to 2015, they were a Senior Scientific Editor at EMBO, and from 2003 to 2006, they worked as a Postdoctoral Scientist at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB).
Thomas Schwarz-Romond obtained an MBA-Leadership degree in economics, innovation, organizational behavior, group and individual management from the GGS of Management & Law Heilbronn, where they studied from 2009 to 2012. Prior to this, they studied Cell Biology and Structural Studies at MRC-LMB Cambridge, UK from 2003 to 2006. Thomas completed their PhD in Molecular and Cell Biology, with a focus on Tumor biology, at MDC-Berlin from 1997 to 2003. In 1995 and 1996, they worked as a Research Associate at the Karolinska Institute Stockholm, specializing in Molecular and Cell Biology, particularly in the field of Diabetes.
