Dr. Torsten Fischer is a prominent expert in communication and media within the scientific community, currently serving as the head of "Kommunikation und Medien" at Helmholtz-Zentrum Hereon since June 2006. Prior experience includes roles at the Alfred Wegener Institute Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research, where responsibilities encompassed press and public relations and scientific research on climate-induced temperature changes affecting marine and coastal fish. Fischer has also contributed as an author for Tesslof Verlag and as a radio moderator for RadioWeser.TV, alongside editorial positions in various science magazines. The research center has an annual budget of approximately 100 million Euros.
