Adam Mak

Adam Mak has five years of work experience. In 2022, they began working as an Application Developer at Hemocath, where they directly communicated with biomedical hardware and instruments, developed, tested, and documented applications in Java and Kotlin, and maintained a keen focus on ISO software medical standards governed by the FDA. Also in 2022, Adam began working as a Software Developer at Arctic Wolf, where they codified and automated AWS with Python, built a data-monitoring system in Go, and combined DevOps and CI/CD practices with Kubernetes and GitHub Actions. In 2021, Adam worked as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant at McMaster University, where they instructed a subsection of 50+ students on the basics of the UNIX operating system and low-level C programming, supervised labs twice a week, and guided students during and outside lab times. Additionally, Adam worked as a Front-End Developer at Techrangle in 2021, where they collaborated with software developers to build and release codebases for cross-device SaaS web applications, designed and implemented reusable Angular components, and created REST API's that communicated with the backend. Finally, Adam worked as a Team Leader at McDonald's from 2017 to 2021, where they led and trained staff to improve workflow efficiency, demonstrated problem-solving skills and conflict resolution within the workplace, and performed effectively in multi-tasking while working in a high-pressure service environment.

Adam Mak is currently studying for a Bachelor of Engineering in Software and Biomedical Engineering at McMaster University, which they began in 2019 and is expected to complete in 2024. Prior to this, they obtained their Ontario Secondary School Diploma from Dr. Frank J. Hayden SS in 2019. Additionally, they hold a Level 10 Piano Certificate from The Royal Conservatory of Music, which they obtained in August 2018.
