Mark Carroll is a scientist with extensive experience in clinical research and laboratory techniques. Currently serving as a Scientist I at HemoShear Therapeutics since October 2019, Mark specializes in automated immunohistochemistry, RNA/DNA purification, and processing tissue and blood samples. Prior roles include Laboratory Specialist 3 at the University of Virginia, where Mark contributed to the development of a reverse-phase protein array and optimized assays for circulating tumor cells. Experience as a Lab Technician at Lockheed Martin involved high-throughput identification of compounds targeting Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Mark also worked as a Research Specialist at Johns Hopkins University, identifying interactions between Glutathione and Cu/Zn SOD relevant to ALS mutant variants. Mark holds a Master’s degree in Biotechnology from The Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor’s degree in Biology with a focus on Microbiology and Immunology from Virginia Tech.
