Head of Industrial Product Design at Hemper

Gabriel Grant has over 8 years of experience in industrial product design. In 2012, they were a finalist in the Eastman Chemical Company Sponsored Studio. From 2014 to 2015, they were a Freelance Industrial Designer and Industrial Design Intern at Quirky. During this time, they completed research, design, 3D models, and design spec documentation for 5+ products for handoff to engineering and marketing teams. Gabriel also aided other designers with CMF exploration, prototyping, and handoff documentation. From 2015 to 2016, they were an Industrial Designer - Accessories at Marley Natural, where they helped lead the design and development of 6+ lifestyle accessories and contributed to the development of 8+ other products for 2016 and 2017 launches. Gabriel also prepared technical documentation for overseas manufacturers and packaging instructions for the domestic packing company. Since 2016, they have been the Head of Industrial Product Design at Hemper, where they work as the lead industrial designer and coordinates product development across multiple in-house brands and outside clients. Gabriel designs and coordinates product development for a large array of cannabis lifestyle accessories in multiple categories and produces 3D CAD models, form & function prototypes, CMF specification, and technical documentation to interface with manufacturers in multiple industries.

Gabriel Grant attended Appalachian State University from 2009 to 2014, where they earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) in Industrial and Product Design.
