Dr. Christian Sawaryn

Dr. Christian Sawaryn is a seasoned executive with extensive experience in innovation, strategy, and automation within the chemical and materials industries. Currently serving as the Corporate Director of Automation Solutions at Henkel since September 2021, Dr. Sawaryn leads a global team of approximately 200, overseeing the P&L for the Adhesive Technologies equipment business and focusing on automation and digitalization processes. Previously, Dr. Sawaryn held various strategic roles at Henkel and McKinsey & Company, including Corporate Director of Innovation Excellence and Strategy and Director of Innovation Strategy. Dr. Sawaryn's educational background includes a PhD in Physical Chemistry from the Max Planck Institute, along with multiple international MBA modules from prestigious institutions such as WHU and Columbia Business School. Ongoing professional development includes executive education in Change Management at IMD and coaching certification.
