Martin Scheerer

Martin Scheerer has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Martin has worked as a Sr. Director of EMS/EMS Chief at Hennepin EMS since June 2019. Prior to this, they were a Business Partner - Senior Consultant at Ethical Leaders in Action, LLC, where they focused on enabling leaders to achieve extraordinary results through training and stakeholder relationships. Scheerer also has experience in planning, business development, and outreach at Hennepin Healthcare from January 2019 to June 2019.

Before their involvement in healthcare, Scheerer held leadership positions in emergency management and fire services. Martin served as the Fire Chief & Director of Emergency Management at City Of Waconia from August 2017 to January 2019 and as the Assistant Fire Chief - Health and Safety at City of Eden Prairie from June 2017 to November 2018.

Scheerer also has experience in the insurance industry, having worked as a Sr. Product & Marketing Strategy Consultant at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota from January 2014 to March 2016.

Their career started at the City of Edina in 1999, where they held multiple roles including Fire Chief, EMS Director, Director of Emergency Management, and Director of Building Inspections until January 2014.

Additionally, Scheerer served as the President of the Minnesota State Fire Chiefs Association from February 2010 to 2012.

Martin Scheerer has a Master's degree in Public Administration from Minnesota State University, Mankato. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Business Administration from Southwest Minnesota State University. Scheerer also holds a Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies from the University of Minnesota.
