Hennepin EMS

Hennepin EMS is an urban/suburban 9-1-1 Emergency Medical Services agency that handles more than 80,000 calls for service each year from the citizens and visitors of Hennepin County, Minnesota. We are based at Hennepin County Medical Center in downtown Minneapolis and serve 14 municipalities, covering 266 square miles, and a population of over 1 million visitors and residents. Our Emergency Medical Dispatchers staff our Emergency Communications Center, a secondary Public Safety Answering Point that is responsible for managing the deployment of our fleet through station and call-for-service assignment. The EMDs use state-of-the-art GPS and automatic vehicle location incorporated computer systems to send the closest resource to all emergencies. The EMDs also provide patient information relay and other support services for the entire west Twin Cities metro through the West Medical Resource Control Center. Hennepin EMS Community Paramedics provide critical resources to patients where they are, rather than the patient needing a clinic appointment for visits such as lab draw, medication reconciliation, and other assessments. These visits are reported back to the patient's primary care team to ensure a well-rounded healthcare system for these patients. The Special Operations Division of Hennepin EMS staffs paramedics, Incident Dispatchers, and Emergency Medical Responders at a variety of events and large gatherings. Hennepin EMS is the sole provider of EMS to US Bank Stadium, as well as an ALS care provider at Target Field, Target Center, TCF Bank Stadium, and many other marathons, concerts, and large community gatherings.
