John Koons

John Koons, CPA has a strong background in finance and accounting with experience in various roles and companies. John currently holds the position of Chief Financial Officer at Henning Companies since June 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Inland Coatings as EVP from January 2023 to June 2023 and as VP Finance/Controller from August 2020 to February 2023. Before that, they were employed at Vertex Software as a member of the finance team from April 2019 to August 2020. John Koons also had a long tenure at Principal Financial Group, where they served as Assistant Financial Director from April 2015 to April 2019 and as Senior Financial Accounting Analyst from September 2009 to April 2015.

John Koons, CPA, holds a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in Finance, General from The University of Iowa Tippie College of Business, which they obtained in 2014. Prior to that, they completed a Master's degree in Accounting from Drake University. John also has a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree in Finance, General from the University of Iowa - Henry B. Tippie College of Business. In addition to their education, John Koons also holds a CPA certification.
