Leah Segar's work experience includes roles in education and management. Leah is currently employed as a School Principal at Henrico County Public Schools. Prior to this, they worked as a School Principal and Assistant Principal at Westmoreland County Public Schools. Leah also served as a Teacher/Department Chair at Henrico County Public Schools. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Middle School Educator at Essex County Public Schools. Before entering the education field, Leah worked at Walmart in various management roles, including Co-Manager, Consumables Assistant Manager, and Assistant Manager. Leah also gained experience as a Restoration of Rights Assistant-Governor's Fellow at the Office of the Governor-General. Leah started their career as a Senior Library Clerk at Hampton Public Library and as a Youth Development Trainer at Alternatives, Inc.
Leah Segar holds a Post-Master's Certificate in Educational Leadership and Administration, General from Longwood University (2018-2019). Leah also earned a Masters of Education in Reading Specialist from Virginia Commonwealth University (2015-2017), and a Master's degree in K-12 Special Education, General Curriculum from Regent University (2013-2016). Leah completed their Bachelor of Arts in English at Norfolk State University (2004-2008), and participated in an advocacy, service, and arts program at The Washington Center in 2007.
