Marcie F. Shea

Marcie Shea was elected in November 2019 to represent the Tuckahoe District on the Henrico School Board. She is both a parent and former teacher in the Tuckahoe District. She taught college prep, honors and Advanced Placement physics at Douglas Freeman High School.

She earned a physics degree from Samford University as well as a Master of Education in curriculum and instruction from Virginia Tech.

As a classroom teacher, she was recognized by Henrico County for cultivating critical thinking with her students and was a fellow in the national Discovery Education STEM program.

After stepping away from the full-time high school classroom, she has continued to invest in Henrico schools through instructional coaching, working one-on-one with high school students, as well as serving on the PTA and various HCPS committees.
