Nenette Luarca-Shoaf is an accomplished museum professional with extensive experience in education and public engagement. Currently serving as the Director of Education and Public Engagement at The Huntington since March 2025, Luarca-Shoaf previously held the position of Managing Director for Learning and Engagement at the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art from February 2020 to March 2025, where responsibilities included developing public programs and fostering community partnerships. At the Art Institute of Chicago, Luarca-Shoaf was Director of Adult Learning and Associate Curator of Interpretation, overseeing adult educational initiatives and managing a large team. Previous roles include fellowships and curatorial positions at notable institutions such as the University of Minnesota, McNeil Center for Early American Studies, and the Smithsonian American Art Museum, highlighting contributions to art history and public discourse.
