Eric Wallis, DNP, MSA, RN, NE-BC, FACHE, was appointed Senior Vice President and System Chief Nursing Officer in December 2021. Eric brings more than 20 years of nursing and healthcare leadership experience to the role. Beginning his career as a bedside nurse, Eric has held roles of increasing responsibility throughout his career gaining experience managing clinical specialties and hospital operations. He has worked in both large academic medical centers and community hospitals.
Prior to taking on this role, Eric served as the President of Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital. He currently serves on the Michigan Hospital Association Legislative Policy Panel and on the Oakland University School of Nursing Board of Visitors. He has a passion for building culture and improving healthcare delivery to benefit both patients and clinicians. Eric is a transformational leader who engages all team members through innovative practices and collaboration.
He earned his undergraduate degree from Bowling Green State University, holds a Master of Science Administration degree from Central Michigan University, and received a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Texas Christian University. Eric is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and is certified as a Nurse Executive by the American Nurses Credentialling Center.
