Elisa Kaplan is a seasoned social work professional with extensive experience in community social services, education, and program management. Currently serving as an Adjunct Lecturer at Columbia School of Social Work since January 2023 and Director of Community Social Work at Henry Street Settlement since February 2019, Kaplan has previously held key leadership positions, including Deputy Executive Director for Programs at the Resilience Advocacy Project, overseeing youth programs and developing social justice curricula. Other significant roles include Posibilities Program Coordinator at Franziska Racker Centers, where in-home and in-school therapeutic services were provided, Family Resource Center Coordinator at Good Shepherd Services - Groundwork, where clinical services and crisis intervention were administered, and Advocacy roles at Urban Justice Center and Tenant Resource Center focusing on legal and housing assistance. Kaplan holds a Master of Social Work from Hunter College and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
