Tachrina Ahmed

Tachrina Ahmed is an experienced education professional currently serving as the Director of College Access and Success at Henry Street Settlement since January 2019. In this role, Tachrina oversees management, student recruitment, and budgeting for a college guidance program aimed at supporting high-performing, first-generation college students. Previously, Tachrina held roles such as College Access Manager, where responsibilities included managing after-school programming and individual counseling for high school students, and College Advisor at The Door, focusing on individualized post-secondary goal setting for diverse learners. Earlier experience includes coordinating college access initiatives at YWCA of the City of New York and mentoring at The Urban Assembly. Tachrina holds a Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Literature from Smith College and a Master of Education in Education Policy and Social Analysis from Teachers College, Columbia University.
