Gunes Akman Ozcan

Gunes Akman Ozcan has extensive experience in corporate governance, securities, and compliance. They currently hold the position of Head of Corporate Governance & Securities & Compliance at Hepsiburada since 2023. Prior to this, Gunes worked as a Senior Associate in the Project Finance Department at Hergüner Bilgen Özeke Attorney Partnership from 2021 to 2022. They also served as a Legal Counsel at Nif Vineyards&Winery from 2019 to 2021. Gunes gained valuable experience in banking operations, project finance, and corporate finance during their time at the EBRD, where they worked as a Senior Associate and Associate in the Office of the General Counsel from 2016 to 2019. Before that, Gunes held positions as an Associate at Hergüner Bilgen Özeke Attorney Partnership from 2009 to 2015 and as a Judicial Law Clerk at Istanbul Barosu in 2009. They also gained experience in international arbitration and French corporate law as a Law Clerk for ICC Arbitrator Jane Willems at Cabinet d'Avocat Jane Willems in 2008. Gunes began their legal career as a Law Clerk for Law Professor E. Saba Ozmen at Saba Ozmen Attorney Partnership in 2006.

Gunes Akman Ozcan has a diverse education history. In 2003, they obtained their Law School Diploma (J.D. equivalent) from Galatasaray Üniversitesi. Gunes then pursued further education and earned a Master II degree in Droit des Affaires et de l'Entreprise from Université d'Angers in 2008. In 2015, Gunes attended Stanford Law School, where they obtained a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree with a specialization in Corporate Governance and Practice. Additionally, they completed their high school education at Özel Notre Dame de Sion Fransız Lisesi, focusing on Mathematics and Sciences. Gunes also holds various certifications, including Admission to Practice as Attorney at Law in New York and California, Admission to Practice as Attorney at Law in Turkey, and Sworn translator authorization to certify translations in French/English/Turkish.
