Charlotte Fieldhouse has a diverse work experience in the field of pharmaceutical research. Charlotte started their career in 2003 with a summer internship at Fine Organics Limited, where they gained experience in GMP custom synthesis of intermediates and APIs.

In 2004, they had another summer internship at AstraZeneca, where they worked in the Process R&D department and carried out organic synthesis to identify and control critical process impurities.

Charlotte then joined GSK in 2005 as an Industrial Placement Student and Associate Scientist, where they worked as a medicinal chemist in the neurosciences therapeutic area. Charlotte was responsible for designing and synthesizing target compounds.

In 2008, Charlotte joined Takeda as a Research Scientist 1 and later progressed to Research Scientist 2. Charlotte was a lead chemist on several CNS drug discovery projects, contributing to the development of programmes such as the Orexin 1 receptor antagonist and DAO inhibitor projects. Charlotte also analyzed and evaluated SAR and biological results to guide future target design and influence programme strategy.

In 2016, Charlotte joined Heptares as a Senior Scientist, a position they held until 2019. During their time at Heptares, they continued their work in the field of drug discovery.

Currently, Charlotte Fieldhouse is working at Sosei Heptares as a Senior Scientist II. Charlotte recently transitioned to the role of Principal Scientist, starting in January 2021.

Overall, Charlotte has a strong background in drug discovery, with a focus on CNS projects, and they have contributed significantly to the development of various pharmaceutical programmes.

Charlotte Fieldhouse completed their Master's Degree in Chemistry with a year in industry at the University of York from 2002 to 2006.
