Teo Tijerina has a strong background in entrepreneurship and business development. Teo is the Founder and CEO of Hera Diagnostics, a company that specializes in remote diagnostics for patients. Hera Diagnostics acquired IP assets from Onko Solutions in 2021 and is actively expanding its portfolio in the field of oncology and infectious diseases.
Prior to Hera Diagnostics, Teo was the Founder of Copán Ventures, a holding company for entrepreneurial endeavors and a provider of consulting services for early-stage technology companies. Teo worked with clients such as Encast, TimiHealth, OS City, Club Sueño Americano, and Pronto, assisting them with business development, marketing, go-to-market strategy, and capital formation.
Teo also played a significant role in the development of Onko Solutions, LLC, a medical device company focused on cervical cancer screening. Teo served as Co-Founder and CEO from April 2019 to March 2020, during which they successfully closed a $2.9 million Series A funding round. Prior to that, they were Co-Founder and Advisor to Onko Solutions from June 2015 to April 2019.
Earlier in their career, Teo served as the Director of Social Enterprises at Southwest Key Program, overseeing the for-profit division of the fourth largest Hispanic-led nonprofit organization in the US. Teo was responsible for four emerging enterprises and managed a team of approximately 40 employees.
Teo's experience also includes their role as Founder and Executive Director at EDCO Ventures, a non-profit technology accelerator that focused on launching high-growth enterprises in economically distressed areas of Texas. Teo secured substantial grant funding and investment for both the accelerator program and early-stage portfolio companies.
Before their entrepreneurial ventures, Teo worked at Dell as the Global Commodity Quality Manager, overseeing quality systems for supplier factories across Asia, Europe, and North America. Prior to that, they served as the Quality Manager at Rockwell Semiconductor Systems and worked as an Operations Improvement Engineer at Union Carbide.
Teo Tijerina completed a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering at Stanford University from 1991 to 1996.
