Gene Warnick is an experienced journalist with a diverse background in sports media. Currently serving as the Editor at Herald and News since March 2022, Gene also works as a Sportswriter for Field Level Media, covering major sports teams such as the Seattle Seahawks, Mariners, Kraken, and Sounders, along with University of Washington football and Gonzaga basketball since May 2017. Gene's previous roles include Copy Editor/Page Designer at The Spokesman-Review, Sports Content Coach at The Kitsap Sun, and Sports Copy Editor at the Orange County Register. Gene held positions as Sports Editor for the Los Angeles News Group and the Los Angeles Daily News, and as Sports Editor for the Yakima Herald-Republic and Watertown Daily Times. Gene's educational background includes studies at Western Washington University and the Oberlin Conservatory of Music.
