Ann-Marie Clerkin

Ann-Marie Clerkin has a diverse work experience in the field of tax and finance. Ann-Marie is currently the Head of International Tax at Herbert Smith Freehills, a position they have held since May 2023. Prior to this, Ann-Marie worked at Clifford Chance as a Senior Manager International Tax from July 2017 to April 2023. In 2015, they joined Montagu Private Equity as an Investment Executive and later became a Tax and Compliance Manager from June 2015 to June 2016. Before that, they held the position of Tax Manager at DNT Chartered Accountants from September 2013 to June 2015. Ann-Marie began their career at BDO as an Assistant Manager - Corporate Tax & VAT from September 2007 to September 2013.

Ann-Marie Clerkin completed a Bachelor's Degree in LLB Law and Accounting from Queen's University Belfast in 2005. Ann-Marie then pursued further education in the field of taxation, obtaining a qualification from the Association of Tax Technicians in 2009. Subsequently, they completed a program in Taxation from the Chartered Institute of Taxation in 2011, followed by a program in Accounting from ACCA in the same year. Most recently, in 2018, they completed the Advanced Diploma in International Tax (ADIT) - Principles of International Taxation from the Chartered Institute of Taxation.
