Mark Schumacher has extensive work experience in the accounting and finance field. Starting in 1998, they worked at KPMG as a Senior Manager, where they provided technical expertise in financial accounting and auditing standards. Mark also served as the lead audit senior manager for multinational SEC engagements.
In 2013, Schumacher joined SunEdison as the Vice President, Corporate Controller and later became the Director of Technical Accounting and External Reporting. Mark was responsible for the overall accounting, SEC reporting, and technical accounting for multiple SEC registrants.
In 2016, Schumacher joined General Electric (GE) as the Global Controller for the Automation & Controls business. Their role involved global accounting and reporting, technical accounting, and compliance.
Since 2017, Schumacher has been working at Herc Rentals, initially as the Assistant Corporate Controller and later promoted to Vice President roles. Mark has been responsible for global accounting, financial reporting, consolidation, and SOX compliance. Mark also played a key role in acquisitions, integrations, system integrations, and process improvement.
Throughout their career, Schumacher has gained significant experience in technical accounting, SEC reporting, consolidations, revenue recognition, acquisitions, divestitures, system integrations, process improvement, and implementation of new standards.
Mark Schumacher attended Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 1994 to 1998. Mark did not obtain a degree or specialize in a specific field of study during this time. In addition, they hold certifications as a Certified Public Accountant and a Chartered Global Management Accountant from the AICPA.
