Avionics Engineer at Hermeus

Ellen Reed has worked in a variety of roles since 2016. Ellen began their career as a Lifeguard at the City of Ann Arbor. In 2019, they took on multiple roles at the University of Michigan, including Head Lifeguard, Building Supervisor, Lifeguard, and CPR Instructor. Ellen also worked as Women's Vocal Arts Day Coordinator, Webmaster, and Ellen'storian for the University of Michigan Women's Glee Club. In 2020, they took on an internship as a Robotic Process Automation Intern at the University of Michigan Shared Services Center, and in 2021 they became a Membership Officer for Women in Electrical and Computer Engineering at UM. In 2022, they began working as an Avionics Engineer at Hermeus, where they own the custom data acquisition device line for rapid testing and serves as a coordinator for designing and producing temporary and permanent data acquisition systems. Additionally, they design, tests, and integrates embedded microcontrollers for the flight PCB stack.

Ellen Reed attended the University of Michigan from 2018 to 2022, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BSE) in Computer Engineering. Ellen also holds two certifications from the American Red Cross, a Lifeguard Safety Instructor certification obtained in October 2021 and a Lifeguard Certificate obtained in April 2021.
