Tom Fields

Tom Fields is an experienced aviation professional currently serving as a Test Pilot at Calspan since July 2023, where responsibilities include flight test instruction and test support. Fields also functions as a Flight Test Consultant for Hermeus since January 2022, following a role as Site Manager at Boeing from May 2022 to July 2023. With a distinguished military career, Fields served in the USMC from January 1998 to October 2022, transitioning from an Aviator to Commanding Officer and Chief Test Pilot at Air Test and Evaluation Squadron 31 (VX-31) between January 2019 and March 2022. Educational qualifications include a Master’s in Experimental Science, Aerospace Engineering from the USAF Test Pilot School, a Certificate in Systems Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School, and a degree from Virginia Tech.
