Senior Propulsion Test Engineer at Hermeus

Weston Schlack has worked in the aerospace industry since 2015. From 2015-2016, they worked as an Engineering Intern at Pentair Valves & Controls. In 2016, they then worked as a Jr. Engineer at Generation Orbit Launch Services, Inc., where they conducted tests to determine the effects of different baffle configurations on liquid propellant slosh dynamics of an air-launched rocket, and designed ground support equipment to provide mobility and aircraft integration for the GO1 Inert Test Article. From 2017-2019, they worked as an Aerospace Engineer at Generation Orbit Launch Services, Inc., where they were a member of the Propulsion and Structures group for the X-60A hypersonic rocket vehicle and served as interim Propulsion Team Lead from November 2018 to February 2019. In 2019, they began working at SpaceX as a Launch Engineer II, where they were responsible for Dragon fluid systems on the launch pad, trained and participated in Dragon water recovery operations, and managed the Dragon launch site hypergolic propellant inventory. In 2020, they were promoted to Sr. Launch Engineer, and in 2022, they began working as a Senior Propulsion Engineer at Hermeus.

Weston Schlack obtained their High School degree from Sanford School in 2013. Weston then attended Worcester Polytechnic Institute, where they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering in 2017 and a Master's Degree in Aerospace Engineering in 2017. In 2016, they obtained a STK Certified (Level 1) certification from AGI, and in 2019 they obtained a KSC SCAPE Operator certification from NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
