C. Dean Schell has held various roles throughout their work experience. From 1987 to 1989, they served as a Field Engineer at Robins & Morton. C. Dean then worked as a Sales Engineer at The STEBBINS Engineering and Manufacturing Company from 1990 to 1993. Afterwards, from 1993 to 2001, they were a Technical Sales professional at Erhardt+Leimer Inc., responsible for sales and customer service. From 2001 to 2009, they worked as a Project Manager at Yeargin Potter Smith Construction, Inc., successfully managing 20 projects. Starting in 2009, they became a Business Owner, managing their own company, C. Dean Schell. C. Dean is currently employed as a Project Manager at Hernandez Consulting & Construction since November 2017.

C. Dean Schell's education history begins with their graduation from Sylacauga High School in 1978. During their time at Sylacauga High School, they pursued a college preparatory curriculum and graduated with honors. Following high school, they attended Auburn University from 1982 to 1986, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural and Building Sciences/Technology. Later, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Clemson University and completed their studies in 1993.

In addition to their formal education, C. Dean Schell has also acquired several certifications. C. Dean obtained a Procore Certification for Project Manager at GC (Financial Management) from Procore Technologies in March 2023. Prior to this, in November 2022, they obtained a Procore Certification for Superintendent from the same institution. Furthermore, they obtained a Microsoft Outlook Certification from New Skills Academy (part of BE-A Education Ltd) in March 2019. C. Dean Schell also holds multiple Procore Certifications, including Project Manager (Core Tools), which they acquired in January 2018, and Superintendent, which they obtained in November 2017.
