Hasso Kaempfe

Dr Hasso Kaempfe has been a member of the Board of Directors for Hero since the beginning of 2012. A year later, in January 2013, he took over the role of Chairman of the Board of Directors, succeeding Dr Arend Oetker. He remained in this post until March 2019, stepping down shortly before his 70th birthday as prescribed by the company regulations.

Dr Kaempfe is a member of the Hero Group Human Resources Committee.

He was the long-standing Executive Chairman of Mast-Jägermeister AG in Wolfenbüttel and before that Board Member at Tchibo GmbH, as well as a lawyer in Hamburg. Since 2007, Dr Kaempfe has taken mandates as Chairman or Board Member for a number of medium-sized family concerns. Furthermore, he is Senior Advisor for various consultancy and private equity companies and Vice Chairman of the Board of the German Brands Association in Berlin. Dr Kaempfe holds a Doctorate in law from the University of Marburg and was admitted to the bar of the Hamburg law courts.
