Efthymios Valkanas

Efthymios Valkanas is a seasoned Power Plant Operator and Mechanical Engineer currently employed at HERON since March 2021, where responsibilities include controlling power-generation equipment, monitoring operational parameters, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols. Prior experience includes working as a Mechanical Design Engineer at VETA S.A. and serving in various engineering roles at the Hellenic Public Power Corporation, managing steam power plant operations and maintenance. Additional engineering experience encompasses mechanics and testing for the State Aircraft Factory and training roles within the Electricity Authority of Cyprus. Efthymios holds an MSc in Sustainable Energy Systems and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Frederick University, with ongoing advanced studies in design and manufacturing of unmanned aerial systems and sports vehicle systems at the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens.
