Ray Perez has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades in the hospitality industry. Ray began their career in 1989 with Hilton Worldwide, where they worked in various food and beverage management positions for eight years. Ray then joined Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. in 1997, focusing on sales and catering management for a year. Following this, they returned to Hilton Worldwide in 1998 as the Director of Sales for another three years.
In 2002, Perez joined Aramark as an Assistant General Manager, a role in which they stayed until 2004. Ray then transitioned to John Q. Hammons Hotels and Resorts as an Area Director of Sales and Marketing, where they worked until 2006.
From 2006 to 2010, Perez held multiple positions at DePalma Hotel Corporation, including General Manager and Regional Director of Operations. In 2010, they briefly served as a General Manager for The Procaccianti Group.
In 2011, Perez joined DePalma Hotels & Resorts as the Vice-President of Revenue, responsible for sales, marketing, and revenue management. Ray continued in this role until 2013, when they moved to Hersha Hospitality Management.
At Hersha Hospitality Management, Perez has held various positions, including Regional Director of Sales and Marketing, Regional Director of Operations, Senior Regional Director of Operations, Regional Vice President of Operations, and Senior Vice President of Operations. As of 2022, they serve as the Executive Vice President of Operations.
Throughout their career, Perez has demonstrated a strong expertise in operations, sales, marketing, and revenue management within the hospitality industry.
Ray Perez has a Certificate in Hotel Real Estate Investments and Asset Management from Cornell University. Ray also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from The University of Texas at Austin. Additionally, they attended North Dallas High School.
